Ioannis Kontizas
Ioannis Kontizas received his engineering degree from the University of Patras, Greece in 2023. As of 2024 he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras. His research interests are in the field of optical communications, specifically in high-speed optical interconnects.

The Optical Communications Systems & Networks (OCSN) Lab at the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department of University of Patras conducts advanced research related with most aspects of modern optical communications systems and networks, that support various networks segments ranging from short reach applications (e.g. Fiber to the Home, Intra-Datacenter interconnects, 5G/6G Fronthaul) going all the way to backbone ultra-high capacity long-reach networks that make today’s Internet and its applications a reality.
